Sanat-O-Tijarat USA provides a platform for professionals to share their knowledge, experience and exploit opportunities for mutual benefit. The responsibility of this department is to encourage members of the Jama’at to get involved in industry and trade by providing them the necessary information and guidance.

MESSAGE FROM HAZRAT MUSLEH MAUD (RA)

Hence, you should make yourself more proficient, and more capable, not only in your region but also in every SECULAR activity, every skill, and every profession. So much so that there is no field left in which the world can find anyone more competent that the members of Jama’at Ahmadiyya.

You become the most skillful blacksmith; you become the most accomplished carpenter; you become the supreme architect; you become the best chemist; you become the ideal doctor; you become the most flawless artist; you become the most immaculate fabric weaver; you become the perfect designer of devices. When you will stand up with this determination and resolve and spread wide into the countries of the world, then God’s angels will shower favors upon you, and whatever work you do, even if it appears to be a secular task, you will be rewarded for it. It is because every step that you take will be to complete the promise of God—which is that the Jama’at Ahmadiyya will become dominant in the world.

Thus, the blacksmith, who tries to outstrip the rest of the world in forging iron for the sole reason that there is a promise of God that Jama’at Ahmadiyya will dominate the world, and he wishes to partake in the completion of this prophecy, then he is not forging iron, but he is in fact engaged in worship.

Among you, the engineer, who is trying to overcome the whole world in advancement in engineering for the reason that there is a promise of God that Jama’at Ahmadiyya will dominate the world, and he wishes to partake in the completion of this prophecy, then he is not doing engineering, but he is in fact engaged in the worship of Allah.

Similarly, the farmer among you, who is increasing his yield with the intention and determination that there is a promise of God that Jama’at Ahmadiyya will dominate the rest of the world, and he wishes to partake in the completion of this prophesy, then he is not doing farming, but he is in fact engaged in progression of faith.

Therefore, progress in every profession, every skill, and every art, and become free of the confines of countries and territories—-since a righteous person cannot be kept restrained by the enclosures of any state or land. Thence you will observe the showers of Allah’s blessings upon you.

Holy Prophet (pbuh) said:

Engage in trade, for nine-tenths of sustenance is found therein. (Hadith: 1588 & Sharhul Ihya, Vol.5 pg. 416)

  • Facilitate in improving employment rate.
  • Facilitate in establishing contacts between various businessmen, traders & professionals.
  • Provide a platform for the sharing of knowledge & guidance in various fields.
  • Encourage and support entrepreneurial skills.
  • Encourage and groom our youth to engage in higher education in order to become industry leaders.

VISION 2020 & BEYOND

Sanat-o-Tijarat is a key function for our Jama’at in edifying the commerce & trade portions for our members. The overall mission of Sanat-o-Tijarat is fairly expansive and quite broad in outlining various salient and key areas.

Since the time of Holy Prophet (pbuh), trade has been closely associated with Islam and its growth. In the city of Mecca, the Quraysh tribe were leaders in commerce with their influence and connections extending to Abyssinia and Syria. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was himself was a member of Quraysh and a merchant before preaching the revelation he received from God. Quraysh used its power to develop networks of trade and support throughout the Arabian Peninsula and beyond. Slowly, Islam spread through economic, diplomatic and other empire-building means.

Remember that Islam has been at the forefront of trade’s development and progress.

Holy Prophet (pbuh) said:

Nobody has ever eaten a better meal than that which one has earned by working with one’s own hands. The prophet of Allah, David, used to eat from the earnings of his manual labor. (https://sunnah.com/tirmidhi/14/7)

The mandate of the this department is to meet the needs of community members seeking business and professional insight.

The department comprises of individual business leaders, organizations, and enterprises joining together to advance commercial, financial, and civic interests of the community.

NATIONAL SECRETARY’S MESSAGE

No one could have anticipated the dramatic changes we are all living through. Dependable systems and safe jobs have shifted or even disappeared. And at this moment, there’s the chance to take action. To put yourself on a long-term path to make things better. The chance to do work you’re proud of. Work that makes a difference for the people you’d like to serve. And perhaps, work that pays you what you’re worth and gives you the freedom to make your own choices. There are problems to be solved, connections to be made, doors to be opened. And the people you care about are waiting for you to do this work. Start where you are and start now.

You have the chance to plan your day, to be in charge, to build something that you own. It’s not simple, and it’s not easy, but that’s never stopped you before.

There are more tools, resources, and opportunities to become a realist today than ever before. To begin with, a market that needs your help, a contribution you want to make, and the willingness to put in the effort—and to create something of value. In our culture, we often celebrate a certain kind of entrepreneur.

The person who comes up with a brand new original concept quits his job, raises a sufficient amount of dollars, and then sells his company or idea for an unimaginable price.

But there aren’t that many Elon Musks/Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates in the world. For the rest of us, there’s the work of a bootstrapper.
